Nick - Class of 2013 | Crystal Lake, Illinois, High School Senior Portrait Photographer

We had a great time in downtown Crystal Lake for Nick's session!  Nick will be graduating from Crystal Lake South High School and starting his next season of life at the University of Minnesota majoring in Chemical Engineering.

He is bright, goal-oriented and an amazing young man!  I was thankful to have his Mom, Karen, join us because she is great at holding a reflector!  How do I know that?  Well, she was with me when I photographed her daughter's senior portrait session a couple years ago.

This is another family that I thoroughly enjoy working with and photographing the important events in their lives over the years!  I am blessed with such wonderful clients!

Fun, smart, beautiful and outgoing are some of the words I would use to describe Tonya.  
She was such a joy to work with and photograph; and I think we could have gone all day!  Tonya will be attending Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida majoring in nursing.  Her strong faith, caring heart and love for people will definitely make her a fantastic nurse!  Maybe she will come to take care of me one day when I am old and gray!  :)

Tonya's family is a wonderful example of why I love what I do!  I've had the privilege of being their family photographer for a number of years beginning with Brittany's senior portraits, next Lauren's and now Tonya's.   This summer I will be photographing Lauren's wedding!   It's a pleasure to walk alongside and photograph such important events in the life of their family!

Jake - Class of 2013 | Crystal Lake, Illinois, High School Senior Portrait Photographer

Jake is a senior at Crystal Lake South High School and has been very involved in Jazz Band. He plays the upright bass and brought it to his session for a few portraits.  I love it when we can incorporate a very special part of a client's high school years in the session.  For those of you who are pet lovers like me and Jake, you will understand why his dog, Wally, was a part of his session!  I have known Jake and his parents since he was born and truly enjoyed photographing his senior portraits!

The DROWSY Chaperone @ Crystal Lake South High School | Event Photographer

It's that time of year when a team of very talented high school students work together day after day to create an amazing musical presentation at Crystal Lake South High School.  Only two short days until opening night on Friday, February 24, 2012.  This musical opened on Broadway in May 2006 and won the Tony Award for Best Book and Best Score.

If you are like me, I had not heard of this musical before.  As I have photographed the rehearsals over the past two weeks, I have found it to be a funny, entertaining and colorful musical full of surprises.  Show dates are:
February 24 & 25 @ 7 pm

Crystal Lake South High School Choir Concert 12.15.11 | Crystal Lake High School Senior Photographer

Joyous sounds of Christmas filled the auditorium at Crystal Lake South High School last Thursday evening for the annual December concert.  What a glorious sound!  All four choirs performed:  Men's Choir, Beginning Treble, Advanced Treble Choir and A Cappella Choir.  The concert was directed by Matt Koll and Alexa Mount and directed by Sherry Taliaferro.  A wonderful night for all!

High school seniors are so fun to work with!  I love to attend and photograph their sport, music or extra curricular activities when I can during their final year of high school.  This year I was able to attend the graduation ceremony at Crystal Lake South High School and photograph some of our wonderful Tonya Pro Seniors!  

A message to our 2011 SENIOR clients:  If you ever wonder whether you have what it takes to succeed, just remember this moment with all the love and pride that surround you as you graduate!  You've got an amazing future ahead of you!  Thank you for the privilege of being part of your senior year!

Kelly | Crystal Lake IL High School Senior Photographer

Class of 2011 - Kelly will be majoring in meteorology at Northern Illinois University this fall.  We were hoping for a little rain on the day of her session so we could incorporate the weather!  She plays the flute and has participated in band during her high school years.  She was a joy to work with!

Lauren | Crystal Lake IL High School Senior Photographer

Lauren's participation in Choir and Drama during her high school years really showed during her session.  She was comfortable and very easily managed different poses and emotions I suggested.  Her ballet experience over the years also played a role as she beautifully pointed her toes for some very elegant portraits.  At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Lauren will major in Special Education to work with children with special needs.

Emily | Crystal Lake IL High School Senior Photographer

Buzzzzzzz!  At the start of Emily's session, I leaned on a tree and got stung by a bee!  OUCH!

Emily will be attending college in Arizona and is looking forward to the warm, dry weather.  A big part of her high school years have been spent as the manager for the D155 swim team.  She did a fantastic job, and at the year-end banquet, you could tell that all of the guys on the team have a lot of respect and appreciation for her.  Emily loves the outdoors, and we had a beautiful (HOT!) day for it!

Wizard Of Oz | Crystal Lake Event Photographer

Weeeee're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz!  Months later we are still singing the songs from this amazing musical! The cast and crew did a terrific job as always! Tonya Pro Photography, Inc. is proud to be the volunteer photography team for South High School's drama department!
